Ashima Shiraishi Sends Big in Texas

Ashima Shiraishi is one of the world’s top climbers and she continued her impressive year with big sends in Texas.

Shiraishi made the first female ascent of Terre de Sienne V14 at Hueco Tanks on Nov. 25. “It feels so good to see improvement in my climbing and that I’ve grown!” Shiraishi wrote on her social media. “Three years ago, I tried this climb for two weeks and got shut down on it.”

She also sent the difficult Diaphanous Sea V11/12, whic is another classic Texas problems. With another few days left in her trip, Shiraishi will surely be attempting some other hard problems.

Today was day-1 of my trip back to Hueco Tanks, TX!!! I shocked myself by getting the first female ascent of the legendary razor blade climb, Terre de Sienne (V14)! It feels so good to see improvement in my climbing and that I've grown!! 3 years ago, I tried this climb for 2 weeks and got shut down on it. I also quickly sent Diaphanous Sea (V11/12), the iconic climb right next to it. I did not expect myself to do both of these climbs today!! But on the bad side, I got a nasty split on my index finger?
