80 year-old Japanese mountaineer Yuichiro Miura has summited Everest making him the oldest person to climb the world's tallest peak.

80 year-old Japanese mountaineer Yuichiro Miura has summited Everest making him the oldest person to climb the world’s tallest peak. This is Miura’s third ascent of Everest having reached the summit when he was 70 and then again at 75. Muira’s record may be short lived however as 81 year-old Bahadur Sherchan will attempt to climb Everest this week.
