The IFSC 2017 stop in Tokyo took place on May 6 and 7. Canadians climbed strong, but none advanced to Semis.
Below are five sweet sends from the final event of the three-stop Asia World Cup tour this year. Click on the clip to play.
This World Cup went by so fast. I battled hard in the semi final this morning. The conditions were the worst yet this season and I found the holds really hard to hold on to! It was so hot and sweaty. I managed to tops 3 and made it through to the final in 5th place. The finals took place just 3 hours after semi finals. It was an odd round. I did what I could. Here's a video of me on the final boulder of the comp. I ended up in 4th place. Congratulation to @janja_garnbret for her second gold of the season and @noguchi_akiyo and @nonaka_miho for 2nd & 3rd. @leahcraneclimbing 📹
A sped up version of my favourite boulder from qualifiers at the Hachioji World Cup last weekend. Once again I had a poor qualifier round and did not advance to semi finals. This time I'm not sure why I didn't climb well – I felt recovered and ready to fight. Sometimes it's just not your day! 😔 • I had a lot of fun the rest of the weekend though, watching all of the Canadian men compete and once again getting to commentate for the livestream of the final round! 🎤
