Good Weather, Big Sends and Pushes in Yosemite

Climbers have been busy in Yosemite and with good weather, a number of sends have gone down. Katharina Saurwein and Jorg Verhoeven sent the nine-pitch Final Frontier 5.13b on Fifi Buttress. The first free ascent of the 1999 route was in 2013 by Nik Berry and James Lucas. Nina Williams also sent the hard line this fall.

Verhoeven is now working to free the 25-pitch Dihedral Wall 5.14, which was first sent by Tommy Caldwell in 2004. Verhoeven sent The Nose 5.14 in 2014. Jacopo Larcher and Barbara Zangerl are attempting the Zodiac Wall in a push after working out the cruxes. Alex and Thomas Huber made the first free ascent in 203 and Caldwell has made the only other free ascent.

Adam Ondra is getting ready to make his free push up the Dawn Wall after nearly a month in the valley. He has linked many of the cruxes, watch the clip below by clicking on it.
