New Squamish Sport Crag is Pilots’ Lounge

The Pilot’s Lounge is a new bolted crag with half-dozen bolted routes. To access the wall, you have to climb a 40-metre 5.11a called From the Ground Up. The route gains a wide ledge the runs the length of the wall. There is a separate rappel anchor at the far left side of the ledge that requires only a 60-metre rope.

The wall is about 25 metres and has routes between 5.12 and 5.13b with one open project. The wall is in the shade until late in the afternoon. The hike is steep and takes about 30 minutes from the Mamquam FSR road. For access and route info, visit here. Some photos of climbers at the crag can be found at Squamish Climbing on Facebook here.
