Alex Honnold Sends and Solos Big Routes in Red Rocks

Alex Honnold recently spent a few days in Red Rocks and wasted no time before soloing Cloud Tower 5.12 up near Rainbow Wall in Juniper Canyon and making the second ascent of a big 5.13.

On Instagram, Honnold noted that he soloed Cloud Tower in one-hour and then down-climbed Crimson Chrysalis, a nine-pitch 5.8, in one hour. A few days later, he repeated Dreefee, a 12-pitch 5.13d, up the Rainbow Wall.

This week I got to make the second ascent of Dreefee (12 pitch 5.13d) on the Rainbow Wall. Amazingly thin climbing up an immaculate vertical wall. @daveallfrey came along to shoot photos and teach @sannimccandless an advanced big wall clinic. Super fun day on the wall. @thenorthface
