This sping, the team of Jon Walsh and Raphael Slawinski bagged the second ascent Rocket Man WI5 M7 350 m on Mount Patterson in the Canadian Rockies. The route had remained unrepeated since it was first established by Slawinski over a decade ago. Walsh and Slawinski found a bail biner on route’s steep bolted section, but there were no signs of travel on the thin upper pitches.

In October 2007, the Swiss duo of Ueli Steck and Simon Anthamatten established Rocket Baby WI5+ M8+ X, which finishes on the final three pitches of Rocket Man.
