Having already achieved podium success at separate World Cup lead and bouldering competitions, Canadian Sean McColl this weekend redefined technical mastery by qualifying in both events during the World Championships in Qinghai, China. By finishing fifth in the lead competition and sixth in the bouldering event, McColl became the first climber to break into the top-ten in both disciplines at the same comp.  Canadians that have followed McColl’s climbing career are not surprised by these results as he has consistently dominated World Cup climbing events at the junior and adult level and amassed an impressive real-rock ticklist. At just 22 years-of-age, McColl will likely to produce similar impressive results in upcoming events and on the rock.
