June 9, 2011 – Trotter Repeats Skywalker and Confirms Grade

Sonnie Trotter has just repeated Jeremy Frimer’s new route Skywalker 5.8 near Shannon Falls in Squamish. Trotter took 55 minutes to solo the five-pitch route and describes the climb as “super-clean” and “awesome.” Trotter is known for repeating and establishing difficult routes, but recently has turned his attention to more moderate lines including his new 5.9 testpiece The Squamish Buttress, North Face Variation (AKA – The Squamish Butt-Face).
