Exile on Main Street Photo Dani Arnold

On May 12, Dani Arnold and Stephan Ruoss made the first ascent of Exile on Main Street, a direct route on the Gross Grünhorn (4,044 m) in the Bernese Oberland, Switzerland.

Dani Arnold was surprised there was no existing route up the wall so decided to go for the obvious line.

After an attempt in March, he returned in May with Stephen Ruoss and started at the Finsteraarhornhütte (3,048 m) and skied to the base of the wall.

They then climbed Exile on Main Street, a 600-meter M7 5.10, quickly and only left three pitons. They bolted a rappel.
