Rock Climber Dies on Tunnel Mountain in Banff

A 26-year-old man from Banff has died in a rappelling accident on Tunnel Mountain.

The climber was rappelling a route called Le Soulier (The Shoe) when the accident occurred and he fell between 25 to 40 metres to the ground.

Police were called in to help recover the man’s body. The climber’s partner was rescued from higher on the climb.
