Watch Moritz Welt on New Frankenjura V14

Moritz Welt, 17, has made the first ascent of Royal Flush V14 in Frankenjura, his fifth of the grade.

“The full line on the boulder starting like Mutant and going all the way up to the end of Backgammon,” Welt wrote on 8a.nu. “Wanted to do this for a long time and after getting close last weekend I came back this afternoon and crushed it first go. There are 16 hard moves in a row – a technical first part into a powerful ending – climbs just perfect but pumps like hell.”

#tb to an amazing sunny #photosession last friday – had lots of fun trying and sending some beautiful #frankenjura problems together with @simon_weisser and @moritz.perwitzschky while @lars.decker.549 captured some of the best moments?. Luckily I was able to grab the first repeat of "Kalokagathia" (8B, pics 1-3), a ~40 moves long roof just recently opened by @moritz.perwitzschky ? In the end of the day we also did a beautiful #highball FA that we called "Guernica" (7B, pic 4) – such an enjoyable session and such a perfect #springtime mood ? #klettern #bouldern #climbing #bouldering #franken #frankenpower #niceday #spring #springmood #mmmgh #naturevibes #natureflash #outdoor #noplacetoonear #backtothewoods
