Watch Alex Megos Red Point Film Rotpunkt

The feature-length film focuses on Megos, the redpoint and Wolfgang Gullich

Rotpunkt features German climber Alex Megos and the history of free climbing including climber like Kurt Albert and Wolfgang Gullich. Megos rose to fame in 2013 after he made the first onsight of a 5.14d.

Last year, he made the first ascent of Perfecto Mundo 5.15c and in Canada he established the country’s first 5.15 with Fight Club 5.15b. Rotpunkt, by Patagonia Films, looks at Megos’s strengths and weaknesses.

A big part of the film is on the Rotpunkt movement, a revolutionary red dot invented in 1975 in Frankenjura by Kurt Albert that indicated was routes had been freed. Hard Frankejura routes like Wallstreet and Action Directe are also talked about.
