The versatile four-person MEC Ohm 4 tent reviewed
A great option for you if you're looking for a roomy shelter this summer
The Ohm 4’s perfect for car-camping, backpacking, canoe-tripping and families who need extra room for kids or folks traveling with pets. The nearly vertical walls, 1.27m ceiling and broad font door add to the sense of roominess. A nice thing about bigger tents in general is that there is more space between the tent and fly to allow airflow on hot summer nights.
The four mesh pockets along the back wall provide plenty of interior storage. The fly can be rolled up on the sides of the tent to allow even more airflow through the mesh canopy and to dry off condensation in the morning. Wind can seriously stress the pole systems of big tents, so the strong, aluminium pole system was welcome and easy to put together. The guy lines can help with this and the reflective cords will minimize the chance of tripping over them in the dark. A vestibule provides 1.35 square metres of storage space.
