Alex Megos Podiums at Innsbruck World Cup

The men's Lead finals marks the end to a long week of competitions that some saw of the world's best climbers compete

Alex Megos was the first to climb of nine men in the Innsbruck Lead World Cup this weekend and went on to win silver. Gold went to Sascha Lehmann and bronze went to Jakob Schubert, who also won bronze at the Tokyo Olympics.

The crux of the finals route was a series of big moves on yellow crimps through a volume, watch as Lehmann climbs to the high point of the competition below. Megos is no stranger to Lead World Cup podiums, in Briancon 2022 he placed third, at Villars 2021 he took silver and at Briancon 2018 he took gold. As a youth climber, Megos won several golds.

Outdoors, Megos is one of the world’s best rock climbers, with sends of Bibliographie 5.15c FA, Perfecto Mundo 5.15c FA, First Round First Minute 5.15b, Fight Club 5.15b FA, Mejorando Imagen 5.15b, King Capella 5.15b, Ratstaman Vibrations 5.15b, and The Full Journey 5.15b.
