Janja Garnbret Wins Two Gold Medals

After recovering from an injury, the Olympic gold medallist is back in top form with two wins this week

Janja Garnbret has taken first place at both the Innsbruck Boulder World Cup and Innsbruck Lead World Cup. In second was Ai Mori and in third was Jessica Pilz.

“The route was hard,” said Garnbret about the Lead finals route. “Just how I like it.” She won the overall Lead World Cup seasons in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2021, and 2022. “There were a lot of doubts and negative thoughts,” she said about returning to comps after recovering from a tow injury. “But winning two golds is just incredible, I’m very grateful.”

Americans Brook Raboutou and Natalia Grossman also made Lead finals but didn’t podium. See full results here.┬áRead about Garnbret’s Boulder World Cup win earlier this week here.
