Janja Garnbret is Candidate for World Games Athlete of 2019

Slovenian Janja Garnbret had a fantastic season in 2019, achieving a total of 12 medals in the major events put on by the International Sport Climbing Federation. She also became the first Sport Climbing athlete in history to achieve a clean sweep over an entire season, winning a gold medal in every Bouldering World Cup this year.

She then went on to win the Bouldering World Championships. During the IFSC Climbing World Championships 2019 in Hachioji, Japan, Janja Garnbret also qualified in first position for the Olympic Games 2020 in Tokyo.

It’s been a long season but it’s finally complete ✨????‍♀️ What a year ? 2019, you’ve been a season that just kept on giving! Lots of positives from this year, with a big goals of mine ticked. It had some lows but mostly highs but I loved (almost) every detail of it. I’ve learned a lot (yea cliche but true), I tried to take lessons from each experience and it will help me get ready for next year, the OLYMPIC SEASON ?? Time for a lil’ break before planning for 2020 and I begin trying to tick off a few more goals of mine ? Already excited for what’s to come! ?? I can’t wait to train harder and be even stronger! ??✨ p.s I cannot thank the people who make living the dream possible every day enough for what they’ve helped me achieve this year.
