Sean McColl Makes Lead Semis at Worlds 2019

Sean McColl is heading to semifinals at the lead World Championships 2019 in Japan after finishing fifth place. McColl had a strong high-point on the first route and topped the second. Full results here.

McColl finished 14th in the bouldering world championships earlier this week where Tomoa Narasaki took gold. Top contender Adam Ondra qualified for lead semis in 10th.

For the women, Janja Garnbret was the only climber to top both routes, while no Canadians advanced. Watch semis below and click to watch McColl on the second route.

Day 4: lead qualification. Topped my first route of the day which definitely set the tone. Second one felt harder for me and I fell up high. Round starts at 10:00 Tokyo local, link in profile. ? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ? by: @lenlenlemon ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ @adidasterrex | @scarpana | @joerockheads | @verticalartclimbing | @flashedclimbing | @perfect_descent | @visaca #verticalart #climbing #train #canada #instagood #picoftheday #photooftheday #athlete #igers #amazing #sports #fitspo #gymlife #power #fitfam #adventure #fitness #work #workhard #workout #strength #challenge #follow #ninja #gym #fun
