Breaking News: Angie Scarth-Johnson is first Australian woman to climb 5.14d

The 17-year-old continues her years-long journey of making history and sending hard sport routes

Angie Scarth-Johnson has become the first Australian woman to climb 5.14d with Victimas del Futur in Margalef, Spain. She became the youngest climber to send 5.14b when she was 10 back in 2015.

Angie was born in Canberra in 2004. At a young age, and after falling out of a tree, her father took her to the local gym where she could climb in a safer environment. In only two years, the young crusher went from her first 5.12c to her first 5.14b with Welcome to Tijuana in Rodellar, Spain.

The young crusher has visited North America a handful of times, and has taken down lines like Lucifer 5.14c at Red River Gorge. We’ve reached out to Scarth-Johnson to hear about her historical send. Watch an excellent film called Pacific Lines featuring Scarth-Johnson below.
