Hard Flashes for Will Bosi in Red Rock

While in Nevada, the top Scottish climber made first-go ascents of two V12s and two V11s

Will Bosi has spent the past month and a half in Red Rock, Nevada climbing some of the hardest boulder problems in the country. He started his trip with a send of Jimmy Webb’s Sleepwalker V15/16, a problem which only took him three sessions to complete. He next went after his main goal of the trip, Return of the Sleepwalker V17, making the second ascent of the line on February 19.

The same day as his ROTSW send, Bosi made a rare flash of Wet Dream V12. “Incredible problem which I was very happy to flash right after sending [Return of the Sleepwalker] as I had been watching people try it for weeks,” said Bosi on Instagram. Established by Ethan Pringle way back in 2004, the five-star problem has gone on to see ascents from many of the best boulderers in the United States.

Bosi made some other hard flashes while in Red Rock. On March 10, he flashed Lethal Design V12. “Super happy with this one as I had no beta!” he said. “I was meant to be on a rest day but it looked to good not to try, highly recommend. However, long and crimping is definitely my style, the top out is scary though!” Lethal Design has been flashed by other top climbers, including Daniel Woods, Carlo Traversi, Adam Ondra, and Ashima Shiraisi, among others. Bosi also flashed two V11s in Red Rock: Burnt and Peter and the Wolf.

Bosi is one of the best boulderers in the world. He has three V17s to his name, Shawn Raboutou’s Alphane, Nalle Hukkataival’s Burden of Dreams, and Daniel Woods’ ROTSW. He’s also sent two V16s: a first ascent of Honey Badger in the Peak District and a repeat of Ephyra in Chironico. He’s climbed many V15s, including four last year – Nova, Ultra Instinct, Isles of Wonder Sit, and Wild South.
