Keita Kurakami’s Bold New Hard Japan Highball

Keita Kurakami has made the first ascent of a new highball problem in Japan he called Neutralism.

He climbed it ground-up, working on the moves between bigger and bigger falls. This is one of the finer boulder ascents of the year.

Kurakami was recently in Yosemite and attempted The Nose on El Cap. Through a communication breakdown, he claimed the fifth free ascent of the big 5.14 and later corrected that he’ll return in 2018 for an attempt.
