Victor Guillermin, 18, Sends First 5.14d

And other hard sends in the world of sport climbing this past week

French climber Victor Guillermin has climbed his first 5.14d with Le Cadafist in St Léger and shared his stoked about it, saying, “Damn. Probably around 15 sesh on this beast during a whole year. By far my hardest route. A huge goal achieved for this year! I have no idea how many tries I did.”

The 18-year-old took home third place at the European Championships in 2023 said he made Le Cadafist, which was first climbed by Gerome Pouvreau, a project after seeing a video of Alex Megos on it. “I wanted so badly to try it,” he said on 8a.nu about the climb which is divided into three distinct parts.

He said that 2024 will be his last year competing in the youth circuit and that he’s going to go for the world title. He also said that his next goal for 2024 is the 5.15b called Stoking the Fire.

Also this week in hard sport, Amandine Loury sent her second 5.14c with La Ligne Claire and Stefano Carnati has climbed two 5.14s over the past few weeks with Martin Krpan and Xaxid hostel.
