Throwback Thursday: Sean McColl, Vail WC Finals 2014

Sean McColl sticking the wild move / watch below

Four years ago, Sean McColl wowed the crowd with this impressive display of coordination on men’s problem three in finals at the world cup in Vail, Colorado.

McColl had to do this slab move semi-dynamically – with just the right amount of momentum such that he could still stop himself with his left thumb on a tiny undercling and a simultaneous right heel catch.

The body tension and precision involved in the movement is totally worth re-watching.

Check out McColl’s send here with a minute and a half left on the clock.

McColl finished in third place and is heading to the Northwest Boulderfest this weekend, see here for more.

Louder Than Eleven shows the move in slow motion in their rad Slow Moments video. Skip to the three-minute mark to watch.
