Watch Alex Honnold Free Solo Hard Ireland Rock Climb

In 2016, Alex Honnold was touring around the U.K. and made a stop at Ireland’s Fair Head to free solo a difficult route. The line was first climbed in 2005 by Ricky Bell at a grade of 6b E8, which is hard.

The route is nearly 60 metres tall and was onsighted in 2015 by Pete Whittaker, who protected the lower half with sky hooks.

It has been described by Ben Heason as “one of the best routes of it’s type in Britain.” U.K. climber Martin McKenna was there to capture the ascent, watch below.
