Another New 5.11 at Sunshine Rock Near Banff

Sunshine Rock near Banff has become one of the more popular crags in the Rockies. The approach takes only a minute and the climbs are well bolted on solid rock.

Over the past few weeks, strong climbers have bolted the steeper sections. James Blackhall bolted and sent Thunder from Downunder 5.11c last week.

This week, Abe Takeshi bolted and sent Headless Horseman, a steep 5.11a on the Paddock Wall next to the parking area. You climb the first few bolts of Hippus 5.10a and then break out right up a crack and overhang.
