Watch Stu Smith on First Ascent of Mullet Power in Squamish

Stu Smith has established a number of hard routes in Squamish this summer and his most recent is called Mullet Power at Island in the Sky in the Smoke Bluffs.

“The route follows a thin seam up a overhanging wall, lots of compression slapping and finicky small gear best describe the route,” said Smith.

“The upper crux is protected by a micro nut (which i filed down to fit into the seam) and a horrible 000 C3 falling at the top would most likly see you ripping the gear and taking a full-on digger. As for the grade i feel it could land anywhere from 5.12c to 5.13a.”
