Family Trip to Napes Needle Inspired by Young Tom Pearce

Tom Pearce was only 11 when he inspired his family to go on a trip to climb Napes Needle in the Lakeland District of the U.K. The first ascent of the striking pinnacle was back in 1886 by Walter Parry Haskett-Smith. Some say it is the historical moment when rock climbing became a sport apart from climbing mountains.
