Watch this wild video that captures a helicopter crashing while making a rescue on Austria’s mountain called Grobglockner. The vehicle came to rest on an edge above a 300-metre drop.

Post-crash wreckage

Despite how bad it looks, no one had major injuries. The accident happened in the evening at about 3,500 metres after the helicopter lost control.

Planetmountain.com interviewed Vittorio Messini, a mountain rescue technician, and noted that you can see the hut caretaker, Toni Riepler, dive out of the way of the rotor.

Messini said, “It was absolutely incredible, just like a horror film. Those involved had THE luck of their lives and thank God we can say that in the end ‘nothing’ happened.”
