Sasha DiGiulian Wins People’s Choice at Banff Festival

The film focuses on her mission to send three 5.14 big walls in the Canadian Rockies

In 2018, Sasha DiGiulian made the first female ascents of three 5.14 big walls in the Canadian Rookies established by Sonnie Trotter. The three routes are War Hammer, The Shining Uncut and Blue Jeans Direct.

DiGiulian was in Banff and spoke about the film after the world premiere. It’s the first film from her new production company Female Focused Adventures and took place in a wildfire smoke-filled-Bow-Valley. DiGiulian talks about moving to Canada for the summer, meeting new friends and pushing herself after a shoulder injury to send the three steep routes.

With partners Trotter, Mike Doyle, Peter Hoang and Dexter Bateman, the film follows DiGiulian on her summer mission. She was the second climber to send all three routes after Trotter. Watch the trailer below.
