“There’s a Flying Squirrel on My Foot” – See the Moment it Flies Off the Climber

Aric Fishman was making the first ascent of a route at a new crag when the littler critter leaped from his foot

Aric Fishman has been developing a new crag that spans multiple kilometres long above a remote lake in northwestern Ontario. The crag, access and free camping is on Crown Land, and details should be available for next summer.

He was recently making the first ascent of a climb when a flying squirrel crawled onto his foot. As he notices the squirrel, it flies off toward the trees and talus below. Watch the moment below.

Fishman said, “I can’t believe that just happened while on the first free ascent of a stellar climb I named Flying Squirrel 5.11.” Follow Fishman below for some great rock shots from northern Ontario.
