Fine Lines is One of the Best Climbing Films of the Year

The documentary was just released online and includes conversations with some of the best climbers of the past few decades

For three years, director Dina Khreino interviewed several world-class climbers, listening to what compels them to leave behind families, friends, and everyday comforts, to risk everything for a fleeting glimpse into the unknown.

What she found was a diverse group of professional adventurers and amateur philosophers, forged by the ultimate test of body, mind, and spirit. At times brutally honest, other times pensive, these athletes’ stories reveal the triumph of the human spirit, and the profound and unique connection formed as they overcome the world’s most epic physical and mental obstacles.

Khreino talks to some of the leading climbers of the past two decades, including: Lynn Hill, Conrad Anker, Adam Ondra, Alex Honnold, Tommy Caldwell, Leo Houlding, Pemba Gyalje Sherpa, Steph Davis, David Lama, Maureen Beck, Angelika Rainer, Hilaree Nelson, Jimmy Chin, Reinhold Messner, Chris Sharma, Emily Harrington, Erik Weihenmayer, Lai Chi Wai, Pasang Lhamu Sherpa, and Xavier de le Rue.
