Ready, Set, Climb! The Golden Carabiner Hunt

If a climber finds a golden carabiner clipped to an anchor in Wasatch Canyon, they can redeem it for a prize

The Salt Lake Climbers Alliance (SLCA) is set to host the Golden Carabiner Hunt on Oct. 28 in Wasatch Canyon near Salt Lake City, Utah. The treasure hunt will take place on sport and trad routes graded 5.6 to 5.12.

The mission is to locate one of the golden Black Diamond carabiners that are clipped to an anchor. Once found, participants can collect their rewards at the Black Diamond headquarters retail store.

Secret clue to the locations of the golden carabiners are available for a fee of $10, and all of the proceeds support the SLCA’s anchor maintenance program dedicated to the preservation and maintenance of climbing routes. The golden carabiners will be climbs that have been maintained by this program. For more information and to sign-up for the hunt, visit here.
