Adam Ondra Spotted Climbing Around Canmore

Adam Ondra has started his long trip to Canada and has been spotted climbing around Canmore. Ondra will be speaking at the Bow Valley Rock Festival in Canmore in August.

The event sold out in only a few hours. He’ll be speaking with top climbers Sasha DiGiulian and Edu Marin.

Climbers have seen Ondra around town, including at Planet X yesterday where he reportedly nearly onsighted The Illusionist 5.14a.

Also at Planet X on Tuesday was Evan Hau, who was busy projecting a new hard line.

Hau is the only Canadian to have potentially climbed a 5.15a with his new route Honour and Glory 5.15a in Echo Canyon.

Honour and Glory has been getting a lot of attention from strong local Miles Adamson, who has nearly linked the climb to the top.

There’s no doubt that Ondra will be heading up to attempt Honour and Glory and Alex Megos’s Fight Club 5.15b at Ravens Crag.

It sounds like Ondra will be around western Canada for at least a month, so hopefully conditions and weather line up for some big sends.

Ondra visited Canada a few years ago and attempted to onsight Dreamcatcher 5.14d in Squamish. Watch the video by Tim Schaufele below of the attempt.
