Alex Honnold to Star in New Horror Film

Along with other top climbers Brette Harrington and Adrian Ballinger. The Sound is currently in production

A new Hollywood horror film called The Sound will star Alex Honnold, Brette Harrington and Adrian Ballinger, along with actor William Fichtner. The movie was written and is being directed by Brendan Devane, known for his work on The Canyonlands.

The Sound, which is currently being filmed in Nevada, is described on IMBD as, “A group of climbers embarks on a dangerous climb that has been off-limits for years. What initially begins as an audacious expedition transforms into a battle for survival against a force that toys with them.”

Honnold and Harrington are listed to play themselves, and while Ballinger isn’t listed on the official cast and crew sheet, Deadline reported that he’ll be in the film. Deadline said, “Intel on the climbers’ roles hasn’t been disclosed, but Fichtner portrays Conner, a father who is faced with losing his son in the same way he lost his father at a young age.” Also working on the film are Mike Negri and Brett Lowell from Reel Rock. William Fichtner is known for his acting roles in Heat, Armageddon, Black Hawk Down, The Dark Knight and Prison Break.

“Working with such monumental figures in the climbing community is nothing short of an honor,” Devane said to Deadline. “The Sound’benefits greatly from our team’s unparalleled authenticity, coupled with their incredible experiences in pushing the boundaries of what is humanly possible in the climbing world. Their real-life climbing prowess, combined with our talented cast of actors, stunt performers, and the haunting, supernatural elements of the script, will put the audience 1000 feet in the air alongside the climbers, to create a unique and spellbinding experience.”
