Slovenian siblings Jernej and Julija Kruder took gold at the 2023 Red Bull Dual comp last weekend

The Red Bull Dual Ascent took place for the second time on the imposing Verzasca Dam in the Ascona-Locarno region in Switzerland. It’s a unique head-to-head multi-pitch climbing competition on artificial routes.

The spectacular backdrop is located in the stunning Verzasca Valley in close proximity to the Lago Maggiore in Southern Switzerland, surrounded by some of the best bouldering and climbing spots in the world – and a picturesque destination for the global climbing community.

In the thrilling final, the Slovenian siblings Jernej and Julija Kruder secured the victory over Olympic gold medalist and defending champion Alberto Ginés López and his Ukrainian teammate Jenya Kazbekova. The Kruder siblings’ historic victory marked the culmination of an intense climbing competition that pushed the limits of skill and endurance. Swiss athlete Petra Klingler and her teammate Louna Ladevant placed third.
