Young Korean climber Chaehyeon Seo has climbed Bad Girls Club 5.14+, which was originally graded 5.14d but some have suggested 5.14c.

The steep route is found at the Wicked Cave at Rifle, Colorado, and was first climbed by Matty Hong in 2011, who said it was 5.14d.

Joe Kinder was soon to repeat it and since then it’s had a flurry of sends by top climbers, some of which said it was 5.14c.

However, Daniel Woods commented that the long climb is harder than most 5.14d sport routes he’s climbed. So, like many sport route in the 5.14 range, the grade varies from climber to climber.

The climber’s site 8a.nu said her father is a gym owner and noted, “She climbs and trains after she gets out of school. Her training time is about five hours a day when she does.

“I make her training plans and I make new climbing problems for her on the spray wall daily. I would like her to be a climber that truly joins climbing.”

Top American climber Margo Hayes, who went on to climb La Rambla 5.15a, had this as her hardest climb before moving into the 5.15 territory.

In 2016, Seo climbed Omaha Beach, her first 5.14a, and last year she sent The Colinator 5.14a in Rifle.
