Daniel Woods Sends Off the Wagon Sit V16
The top American climber made the third ascent
Daniel Woods made the third ascent of Off the Wagon sit, the now-famous V16 boulder first climbed by Shawn Raboutou in Val Bavona, Switzerland. It recently had a second ascent by Jimmy Webb.
The powerful problem is on a big boulder at the edge of a field and was first tried nearly 20 years ago by Chris Sharma and Dave Graham. Nalle Hukkataival made the first ascent at V14 and called it Off the Wagon in 2012. Raboutou’s V16 start was the first problem at the grade in the country.
Webb didn’t take too long to repeat the line, but Woods needed a little more time. “One of the more exhilarating experiences I have had in bouldering,” said Woods. “The power, precision, and accuracy needed to send is difficult to have align in unison.”
