Dave Graham and Cedric Lachat Send La Rambla 5.15a

There have been at least four send of La Rambla so far in 2019

La Rambla is arguably the most famous 5.15a in the world and in 2019 it’s been sent at least four times with the most recent being by Cedric Lachat. It was first climbed in 2003 by Ramón Julián Puigblanque as the extension to a route climbed by Alex Huber.

“I tried long time ago, it was an old nemesis. The first try was in 2015 and then I tried two years ago, but conditions were hot.” said Lachat. “This year I tried Dani Andrada’s beta at the crux, instead of holding the vertical crimp right hand to the two-finger pocket with the left hand undercling, I held this one going to a gaston-sloper right hand and then to the two-finger-pocket left hand.

“It’s harder physically but it’s less random. I did it directly with this beta this time. Andrada found this beta but I think I’m the first to send the route with this sequence.” Watch below.

Top boulderer Dave Graham also sent La Rambla this summer as the first of the year to tick it. “It was real meditative which was particularly intriguing and got me super inspired climb more routes in this style,” said Graham.

“After a couple weeks of unseasonably hot weather which produced some rather dismal attempts, that magic Siurana wind returned and I unexpectedly found myself climbing through the final crux.” Other sends of La Rambla this year were by Piotr Schab and Gonzalo Larrocha.

Well, yesterday was massive ? Sending such a legendary route like La Rambla fills your head with both emotions & thoughts and it is hard to pick the most important one ? This time I’d say that what really makes me proud is that I climbed such a complex route without any major mistakes after just a few working goes ?? • • ?@pablo_benedito • • @patagonia_climb @patagoniaeurope @scarpa_pl @scarpaspa @iurapl @blackdiamond @sublimeclimbing @wingschalk #climbing #climbing_is_my_passion #climbing_lovers #climbing_worldwide #climbinglife #climbing_pictures_of_instagram #timetoclimb #climb #climber #wspinanie #wspinaczka #wspinaniepl #arrampicata #klettern #outdoorclimbing #escalada #escalade #rocks #rockclimbing #sportclimbing #doyouclimb #climbingrocks #iloooveit #grippedmagazine #rockandice #climberslife #climbingisbliss #training #wingschalk
