Grizzly Bears Force Closure of Rockies’ South Ghost
A female grizzly bear with cub is displaying aggressive defensive behaviour around Lake Minnewanka.
This has forced the closure of the South Ghost climbing area at the Banff Park east boundary at the South Ghost River.
This means the Grey Ghost Wall, Phantom Crag, Bonanza, Planters Valley etc. are all out for now until further notice.
Entering the area could result in a $25,000 fine.
