Jane Vincourková Sends New V13 After Two-Year Hiatus

Despite taking two years off, it only took a few weeks of training to get back to hard V grades

Jana Vincourková, who restarted climbing a few months ago after a two-year break, has made the first ascent of Conquistador V13 in Sklapsko. Over the last five weeks, she’s climbed eight problems V11 or harder, including three first ascent.

Vincourková started with climbing when she was about six, but said she trained and competed so much that it was no longer fun so she quit. She found new motivations and spent the lockdown training eight to 10 times a week. “I have to say that the ‘boring’ routines worked and I am begging to like that style of training too,” she said. “I feel that motivation will last for a long time.”
