May 17, 2011 – Ondra Repeats Overshadow

After seven days of work, Adam Ondra has bagged the first repeat of Steve McClure’s difficult Malham testpiece, Overshadow 5.15a. McClure had climbed the route in 2007 and had cautiously proposed a grade of 5.15a.

Ondra, who has recently made quick work of numerous 5.15s and is likely the one person with the most experience at this grade, has confirmed Overshadow’s 5.15a rating. More details here.
