Michaela Kiersch on Send Train in Hueco Tanks

Michaela Kiersch has been climbing in Hueco Tanks for the past few weeks and ticked a number of hard and classic problems, including a V13.

Earlier this month, she climbed See Spot Run V6, Dark Age V11 and Barefoot on Sacred Ground V12.

This week, she climbed her hardest to date and joined the V13 club with a tick of Aragorn.

She wrote on Instagram after: “Words can’t describe how happy I am to have sent Crown of Aragorn, my first V13/8B. I have never been very confident in my bouldering and this has opened my eyes to so many new possibilities and adventures.”

Kiersch recently climbed The Golden Ticket 5.14c at Red River Gorge. She’s also climbed Pure Imagination 5.14c and Lucifer 5.14c. She has been the US National Youth Bouldering and Lead Champion bouldering.

She studies at DePaul University as a Bioscience major in Chicago. She coaches youth climbers when not out sending.
