Natalia Grossman on Fire at SLC World Cup

Of the six women heading to finals, three are from Team USA

The IFSC Salt Lake City World Cup is taking place this weekend with several of the world’s best climbers competing. The IFSC released a press release today about the women’s semi-finals.

Update: Natalia Grossman won gold!

Three Team USA representatives qualified for the women’s Boulder final that will take place tonight at Pioneer Park, in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA, where the fourth stage of the International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC) World Cup Series 2023 is currently underway. Seven-time World Cup gold medallist Natalia Grossman signed the perfect semi-final round, topping all four problems and placing ahead of France’s Fanny Gibert – 30-year-old, and participating in her 50th Boulder World Cup competition.

Gibert took second place with three tops and four zones, the same score of Luo Zhilu of China, who placed third because of a higher number of attempts to top. Team USA’s Anastasia Sanders and Brooke Raboutou followed in fourth and fifth position, with a second French climber – Oriane Bertone – qualified in sixth place. Out of the six finalists, only Grossman and Raboutou have already won a World Cup gold medal.
