Sachi Amma Ends 2017 With a New 5.15a

Sachi Amma has climbed a new 5.15a to wrap up his 2017 season with the first ascent of Maturity.

The climber’s site 8a.nu reported the route is at Gozen Rock, which was closed for 30 years due to disrespecting climbers.

Amma reported on Instagram: “It was this October that I came back to the project (it was bolted by me and Adam Ondra in 2016 March). It took me two months to finish it off.

“This is my first experience to open such a hard route from the beginning. I needed time to do all the hard work. But I didn’t waste any time.”

Amma had climbed other 5.15a routes including Realization/Biographie, Jungle Boogie, La Rambla, Thor’s Hammer, Pachamama and Papichulo.

And he’s ticked at least one 5.15b with a send of Fight or Flight.
