By bagging the second ascent of Chris Sharma’s Dreamcatcher 5.14d, Sean McColl has firmly established himself as Canada’s best rockclimber. Dreamcatcher was first climbed by Sharma in 2004 and has repelled serious repeat attempts by a number of strong climbers including Sonnie Trotter, Ethan Pringle and Paul Robinson. McColl’s ascent is the first time a Canadian has climbed and established 5.14d and is no doubt a result of the fitness he has gained from competing and finishing on the podium at numerous European World Cup climbing competitions this summer.
