The Banff Mountain Festival is On for Fall 2021

There will be a virtual and in-person component for those who want to visit Banff

The Banff Centre Mountain Film and Book Festival will be taking place from Oct. 30 to Nov. 7 this fall. It will take place virtually and in person.

A press release from the Banff Centre said: Thanks for all your patience and inquiries into the 2021 festival; we love seeing anticipation build each year for this celebration of mountain culture. This year we’ll be presenting the best stories of adventure and exploration from around the world, both LIVE in Banff and in a Virtual format. The adventure continues! From Oct. 30 – Nov. 7 a scaled down format of the live Festival will be taking place at Banff Centre!

The event is an international film and book competition and annual presentation of films and documentaries about mountain culture, sports, environment and adventure and exploration. It started in 1976 as The Banff Festival of Mountain Films by The Banff Centre and is held every fall in Banff, Alberta.

Sept. 29: In-person and online Festival schedule.
Oct. 5: In-Person Tickets and Virtual Passes ON SALE at 12 pm (MDT).
Oct. 15: End of the Early Bird Virtual Festival Pass price.
Oct. 30: Individual Virtual Festival film programs single rentals begin.
Nov. 2: Last day for Virtual Festival Pass purchases.
