This Skier Lives Off-Grid in the U.S.A.

A must-see new film by Made Black East about a cabin where climbers and skiers have been taking shelter for decades

Below the summit of New Hampshire’s Mount Washington, at the doorstep of Huntington Ravine, sits The Harvard Cabin – a remote respite for ice climbers and backcountry skiers to escape the elements. This film is an ode to the caretakers that care for it, the people of Harvard that built it, and the mountaineers that rely on it.

The Caretaker follows the story of Jack Kingsley, a solitary and enigmatic man who has chosen to live this reclusive life. Embracing the serene isolation, he spends his days meticulously observing and documenting the snowfall, weather patterns, and wildlife in the area.

As the film’s description reads, “As a passionate backcountry skier, Kingsley harnesses the untouched powder as his canvas to create breathtaking lines on the vast, untouched slopes. His intimate knowledge of the terrain and his close relationship with nature allow him to navigate the treacherous landscape with grace and skill.”

With stunning cinematography capturing the raw beauty of the untamed wilderness, The Caretaker explores themes of self-discovery, human connection, and the profound impact of the natural world on the human spirit.
