And Now Everest Has Buried Treasure on Top

Mount Everest

Everest is a busy place this spring with nearly 500 climbers having reached the top and a number of new records going down.

And now you can add buried treasure to the Everest 2018 list.

On May 14, Taras Pozdnii, Roman Horodechnyyand, Dmytro Semerenko and Iryna Galay say they left 500,000 ASKT tokens, about $55,000 CAD, on the summit of Everest.

Their giving deed (a big publicity stunt) didn’t come without some troubles, as on their descent had to call for a rescue. One team member was suffering from frostbite and snow blindness.

Two climbers were airlifted to Kathmandu and are receiving treatment.

Pozdnii, the injured climber, wrote from the hospital, “My eyes are coming back… but I see a little blurry. Don’t worry. It’ll heal quickly.”
