El Salto is one of the best rock climbing areas in Mexico with countless amazing limestone routes from easy to 5.14.
El Salto is in a small town called Cienega de Gonzalez, about two hours away from Monterrey. It’s different than Potrero Chico and Huasteca with its Spain-like tufas and big roofs. It’s a favourite location of many Canadians during the winter.
This story is about the couple Jose and Maria – both passionate climbers – and their special connection to a beautiful mountain in the eastern mountain range of Mexico.
