Grandpa Peabody in Bishop is Busy This Season

The Grandpa Peabody is the biggest boulder in the Peabody boulders of the Buttermilks in Bishop.

There are a number of hard, classic problems, including Cave Problem V4, La Belette V11, Rastaman Vibration V12, Lucid Dreaming V15, Evilution to the Lip V10, Evilution V12/13R, The Process V16X, Transporter Room 5.12c V5X, Ambrosia V11X, Advanced Rockcraft Arete 5.8+ V0X and Footprints V9X.

This season, there are a lot of boulderers taking advantage of the great weather in Bishop, including a few Canadians. Be sure to follow below to watch for sends.

My friend Ivan snagging a send of the often overlooked “big easy” v7/8 on the Grandpa Peabody. So stoked to see him cruise thru the crux and keep it together all the way to the top! I tried Ambrosia for the 3rd session this trip, and got shut down by the same move above the hueco. After falling twice today with no gains I figured the ground up style was not happening. My knees already hurt a bit. I top roped the line and easily found a much more secure way to do the move. I don't think I would have ever figured out this new sequence ground up. One of the moves at the top I also do differently from those in videos. Overall I'm happy with the decision, I'll just bust it out tomorrow. @rockninja_8a is still going for the ground up dream, and liked the looks of my new beta. Best of luck to him!!!
